Choosing a career can be challenging, especially in the face of a dynamic job future where the options available can feel overwhelming.

But what if students had the agency to make informed decisions for an ever-changing future? Careers Compass is a unique program for Year 6 to Year 10 students that encourages students to explore their identities, build their skills, values and attitudes, and improve their confidence and agency in making careers based decisions.

The Careers Compass program, developed by the University of South Australia, will increase participant's awareness of, and capacity to choose from, diverse career options through a series of developmentally appropriate activities. Informed by the Australian Blueprint for Career Development and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Education 2030 program's 'Learning Compass' framework, our program implements best practice with respect to complex careers development and thinking.

Through a series of activities, students participate in gamified stories, group based face-to-face challenges, and one-on-one workshops with highly trained UniSA facilitators. They engage with other online resources to self-reflect on who they are and how their skills and values can make a significant difference in the world.
